During the year 1979 the Government of Indonesia issued a series of decrees and regulations aimed at improving coordination in the supply, distribution and quality control of lubricants. This consists of a Presidential Instruction No.1/1979 which was followed by decrees issued by the Minister of Mines and Energy, the Minister of Trades and Cooperatives, and the Minister of Industry and their Director Generals each in their respective fields. The main features of these new regulations area the need to have strict quality control on lubricants, and qualification of lubricant products and traders. LEMIGAS is deeply involved in this scheme. Some of the aspects of invelopments of LEMIGAS are described briefly below.
