Two brown clear oil samples taken from a village in IRIAN JAYA were sant to LEMIGAS by Mr. KALIQ QURESHI of SUN OIL Co. in November 1975. The sample in the “small bottle” was about 10 ml with water layer these beneath, were as in the “big bottle” not more then 400ml was fround. It was informed that the “SMALL BOTTLE” sample is definitely from a seepage. The village people suspected that the “big bottle” sample it also from a seepage. LEMIGAS was asked to make some analysis, Which might be useful to give more information about the origin of the samples. The job was registered in the Department of Refining and Petrochemistry as Project Number 61-c-0145.
